(yes, I know that it's old thread ;p)
It's strange but...logical. If forum is full of threads it mostly means that product has a lot of problems (look at that forum; 95% posts are about problems). How I can do that, why this is not working, etc. It's not popular to write "look, today I printed that". Yes, you printed - so what? It's not facebook. No one care about customer service when everything is just working.
I have three Zmorph printers (previous generation, but it doesn't matter now). And 9 toolheads. Sometimes I need to calibrate Y axis or table, replace PTFE tube or do some other service (especially cleaning). But it's all.
Of course I can write here to boats about my prints but I know that everybody with that printer can achieve the same results. So where is the point? To compare this printer with others? Even the cheapest wood prusa can make great prints (with PLA and when it's running slow ). As for me, that printer has 3 great features with makes it really interesting:
- it's on smoothie (80% printers uses 8-bit AVR, there you have 32-bit Cortex M3),
- stable construction (more than a half of problems on different forums are coused by poor quality of construction elements); I've printed succesfully some things with 140mm/s (and it was ABS ;p) so I know something about it :);
- easy changeable toolheads; when you have some problems with toolhead (as for me - PTFE) you can replace it and repair when you have time or spare parts; of course toolheads are not cheap but compared to others (Ultimaker) they are also not especially expensive Also my toolheads have different nozzles.
I'm aware thet there is a lot of Zmorph owners which are not satisfied (1). Some people think that if it's expensive it should do everything by itself (like products from other Polish manufacturer). But think about it like any other "3D printer" but build with proper parts, stable construction, changeable toolheads (2) and good electronics.
(*1) I have bought two of my printers from unsatisfied customers. Because of value they wanted to sell it rather than throwing away. I spent less than hour for cleaning and calibrating each printer and now I have 3 great machines. Even 2.0 model (which has more plastic construction elements than 2.0S) can create great prints.
(*2) I meant easy changeable. One screw and replacing SD card (different configuration). Not whole day of digging in printer.
